An Introduction to Dyslexia
October is dyslexia awareness month. Join INW Dyslexia Alliance presenters to learn more about dyslexia including common signs, important terms to know, myths, and practical steps to follow if dyslexia is suspected.
2022 Fall Spelling Symposium (2nd Sat in Oct)
Hosted by the Dyslexia Training Institute, this symposium brings together four experts in spelling. Together, they bring a range of experiences including classroom instruction and tutoring across ages and abilities, administration, teacher education, and research. The presenters have planned their workshops as an integrated series of sessions that build on their backgrounds and strengths. Both Saturdays will involve a mix of practical and conceptual topics: participants will engage in orthographic investigations that can be used in classrooms and tutoring sessions across the grades, complemented by presentations that unpack the theory behind those practices.
Oct Monthly Meet-Up
Let’s get together! Join co-founders Colleen and Lisa to learn more about the Alliance, how it came to life, the leadership team and pillars driving our efforts. We’ll also take some time to speak about our vision of the new Alliance Ambassador Program, additional ways to get involved and upcoming events.
It’s a great time to meet others impacted by dyslexia in the area and begin building our community! Hope to see you there!
