Introducing Champions for Dyslexia, a knowledge-sharing initiative through the INW Dyslexia Alliance for educators and caregivers.

Educators: Join a collaborative network of K-12 professionals in the Inland Northwest dedicated to learning more about how to support their students with dyslexia.

Caregivers: Expand your knowledge of dyslexia to better assist your child in achieving success in the classroom and beyond.

Let's come together to build community, share valuable resources, and spark change for dyslexic students in our region!

    1. Support the vision and mission of the INW Dyslexia Alliance.

    2. Encourage one another in a positive, safe, collaborative space, aimed at building confidence in understanding and addressing dyslexia.

    3. Share information and resources related to dyslexia.

    4. Advocate for dyslexia awareness in the region.

  • Every other month, each group will get together for a 1.5-hour workshop-style meeting. We'll provide the topic and target audience beforehand. We value your time and recognize everyone's busy schedules!

  • Typically, each meeting follows this agenda:

    • 15 minutes: Introductions

    • 30 minutes: Knowledge sharing from a speaker

    • 30 minutes: Table discussion/Interactive questions

    • 15 minutes: Questions/Discussion

  • Of course! While we intend for the meetings to be full of valuable insights and networking opportunities, we understand that not everyone can attend. Our leadership team will send email updates summarizing each meeting to everyone on our Champions for Dyslexia list so you can stay informed and participate when you’re able!

  • No, we are establishing four separate Champions for Dyslexia groups:

    1. Eastern Washington Educators

    2. Eastern Washington Caregivers

    3. Northern Idaho Educators

    4. Northern Idaho Caregivers

    Each group will have its own leadership team, agenda, and meetings yet follow the same objectives listed above. While there may be occasions when all groups get together, the majority of our gatherings will remain distinct and separate.
