Literacy Intervention
A Few Things to Know
Getting Started
Our literacy intervention is designed to complement classroom instruction by providing targeted, one-on-one support for individuals with dyslexia.
We use structured, evidence-based instruction to build strong reading, spelling, and writing skills at a pace that fits each learner.
To receive services through our nonprofit, one of the following is needed: a reading-related SLD diagnosis or IEP, an official dyslexia diagnosis, a WIST evaluation, or a K–2 school screener letter showing literacy concerns or indicators of dyslexia. If you believe your child should have received a letter, please contact your school.
We understand these steps can take time and can begin services while they are being completed.

Helping You Find the Right Support
Finding the right provider is an important step in getting effective support for dyslexia and related areas of need.
This page is designed to help families identify providers who best fit their situation, whether based on insurance, scope of services, or areas of focus such as literacy, language, attention, or other learning-related challenges. Our goal is to support strong matches between families and providers so each individual receives care that aligns with their unique needs.

An SLD in reading is a school special education label used to determine if a student qualifies for extra reading support through an IEP. It focuses on whether a student is performing significantly below expectations in reading.
Dyslexia is a specific learning difference that explains why reading is difficult. It is related to how the brain processes sounds in language, which can affect reading, spelling, and decoding.
In short, SLD in reading is the school’s eligibility category, while dyslexia is the underlying language-based learning difference.

A Clearer Path Forward
Finding answers can make all the difference.
Conducted by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), our comprehensive dyslexia evaluations help identify strengths, uncover areas of need, and provide practical recommendations for support at home, in school, at work, and through intervention services.
We serve individuals ages 5 and older and are dedicated to helping each person better understand their unique learning profile and the path forward.
The Alliance does not accept insurance and offers services through a “donate what you can” model. Referrals are not required.
